The Coherence Principle:
What Chiropractic Could Be
If you caught my last post, you know I didn’t hold back. I called out the deep dysfunctions, the self-sabotage, and the missed opportunities that have kept chiropractic—and animal chiropractic—stuck in the shadows. But this isn’t just a rant. It’s a call to arms. Because after exposing the problems, we have to talk about the path forward. What if chiropractic could heal itself? What if animal chiropractic could lead the way? This article is about that possibility.
From Collapse to Coherence
What animal chiropractic can become—if we choose to evolve.
If you read my last piece, you might be wondering what’s left to salvage.
I laid it bare: the self-inflicted wounds of the chiropractic profession. The secrets no one wants to say out loud. The dysfunction, the infighting, the wasted potential.
But this post is not about collapse.
This post is about coherence.
It’s about what chiropractic could be—what it was meant to be—and how those of us on the edges might be the ones who finally get to build it.
The outsider’s view is clearer
Here’s the part that still surprises people:
I’m not even a chiropractor.
I’ve never held a license, never adjusted a human spine—and yet, I’ve spent years inside this profession. I’ve studied it, served it, taught it, and in many ways, know more about its inner workings than many chiropractors ever will.
Why? Because I care. Deeply.
Not about preserving some outdated club, but about the promise that chiropractic once carried.
The idea that healing can come from within.
That alignment matters.
That care doesn’t have to be chemical or forceful to be powerful.
But I don’t work in traditional chiropractic. I work in something even more radical—animal chiropractic—and that’s where things get really interesting.
Animal chiropractic is already a revolution
Animal chiropractic isn’t just chiropractic.
It’s chiropractic and veterinary medicine in the same room, at the same table, serving the same client. That’s not just overlap—that’s a merging of worlds that were never designed to work together.
And yet... it’s working. Not everywhere, not perfectly—but it’s happening.
Every time a chiropractor and a veterinarian collaborate on a case, something extraordinary becomes possible. Lives are changed. Species are bridged. Entire systems heal.
But let’s not romanticize it too much—because animal chiropractic also inherits the fractures of both parent professions. It inherits:
The medical model’s gatekeeping
The chiropractic model’s infighting
The mutual distrust that keeps both sides small
So what do we do?
Choose coherence, on purpose
We stop pretending we’re powerless.
We stop hiding behind titles and turf.
We build something new.
We choose vision.
Not just “what do I want to do with my license?” but “what future am I here to create?”
We choose trust.
Not blind loyalty, but radical transparency. Service. Accountability. A willingness to share the load instead of hoarding the spotlight.
We choose community.
Not just colleagues, but cocreators. People who will challenge us to grow, and who we won’t abandon when things get hard.
Animal chiropractic can lead the way
If you’re in this space—whether you’re a DVM, a DC, or neither—you already know how hard it is to do this work without support. You’ve probably seen what happens when people try to hold the vision alone.
But here’s the good news:
Animal chiropractic is still young. It’s still flexible. It hasn’t calcified into the rigid structures that paralyze the human side of the profession. That means we still have the chance to do it differently.
We can collaborate instead of compete.
We can educate instead of hide.
We can lead instead of react.
That’s the chiropractic I want to be part of.
That’s the animal chiropractic that can show the rest of the profession what’s possible.
That’s the version of this work that finally fulfills its promise.
It starts now. With us.
